Our Area C2 International & Table Topics Contests Champions‏

Dear Fellow Toastmasters/ Friends,

I am delighted to announce that our two members, Stephen Fernando and
Manohari, who respectively represented our Club at the above two
contests last night at the IEM premises emerged as Champions thereof.
Hence, they will proceed to represent Area C2 at the coming Division C
International & Table Topics Speech Contests at 1.30 pm to 5,00 pm on
Saturday, 7 April 2012 at the UEM Automobile Assembly Plant Auditorium
in Shah Alam.

Our Stephen spoke on the subject of "My Best Friend". His delivery
was glibbing, interesting and exciting with quotes from personal
experiences and authoritative sources. The 1st Runner Up went to Alex
Lu who spoke on "Parenthood".

Our only female contestant, Manohari, spoke on the common subject,
"Plan your Work, Work your Plan". She was the only contestant
adventurous enough to approach the subject from a reversed
psychological angle. She backed up her stand by citing various
personal experences that were both refreshing and informational.

Attached please find for remembrace two photogenic shots of our
Champions taken immediately after the presentation of awards.

The Contests started at about 7,30 pm and attended by about 50
Toastmasters from clubs in Divsion B, C, P and W.
The Nasi Lemak scored top marks. Once the poet said, "So long as the
tummy is satisfied, the rest is history".

Do make a date to attend the Division C Contest. Our members need
your moral support. Entry is free. Lunch snacks and drinks shall be
provided.

Including yours truly, only five members attended the above contests
although a bigger number would have given a greater impact.

Our next Club meeting is on Friday 2 March 2012 which coincides with
our Area C2 Governor's official visit to our Club. Please turn up in
full force to give ASG Lee Meng Tze a warm welcome.

Introduce your friend or associate by bringing him or her to attend
our Club meeting and be exposed to Toastmasters mission, vision and
programs.The search for joining a Toastmasters Club in the Kalang Valley
always ends with us.

Let us continue to keep our Club's flag flying mightily.

Area C2 International & Table Topics Speech Contests 2012‏

Dear Fellow Toastmasters

Tomorrow evening is the day for the above two contests.

They are held at the Wisma Ingenitur, where the IEM Toastmasters Club
meet at 7.15 pm Thursday 23 FEb 2012.

Do present yourself to give moral support to our two contestants,
Stephen Fernando and Monohari.

Our club has paid for your entrance. Dinner is provided. So see you all
there.

Report on MIHRM Meeting on 17 Feb 2012‏

Dear Fellow Toastmasters

Tonight’s meeting was fantastic and funtastic meeting. It was in fact
according to our GE, Stephen Fernando, an international meeting. The
meeting comprised people from Pune, India, Maldives, Batu Pahat,
Johore.
The good news is that we have another three new members joining us
effective 1 March 2012. They are Zaifah, Vanatha and Ulya.

The table topics session was conducted by CC Boon, the TT Evaluator’s
role was played by TM Ian Tai from Friendship Club, a club which MIHRM
helped to resuscitate slightly more than 10 years ago.

We were glad to have the presence of Doreen Ong, ex-Treasurer of the
Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management, of which the
undersigned was then the Vice-President in the mid-90’s; during which,
the conception of MIHRM Toastmasters Club was mooted.

Doreen Ong emerged as the Champion for the Table Topics Session.



TM Ravin undertook Speech No. 3 from the Basic Communication Manual
with the title, “Goal Setting” while Dr William Lau his No 7 on
“Believe and Be Transformed”. Their respective evaluators were TM Ian
Tai and ATMB Stephen Fernando.

All the guests opined well for the meeting and expressed their return
and three decided to join the Club as members.

The President made the following announcements:
1) All members are cordially encouraged to give moral support to our
members Stephen Fernando and Manohari who will be representing our
Club at the coming Area C2 International & Table-Topics Contests at
7.15 pm on Thursday, 23 Feb 2012 at the Institute of Engineers of
Malaysia premises.
2) The 2nd TI dues are due on 1 April 2012. Please effect payment to
our Treasurer CC Boon at our next meeting on Friday 2 March 2012.

In conclusion, the President heartily thanked all those who played the
various roles and participated in the various programmes

The meeting ended at 9.35 pm.
