My Swan Song

Dear Fellow Toastmasters,

At the IEM meeting last Thursday, 14 June 2012, a certain District Officer expressed his amazement at how we managed to steer, transform and restore our Club to its glorious past - a Club known and recognised by one and all within the very much enlarged District 51  as one of the leading exemplary clubs in the region.  For this, I must admit that I did not do it alone.

First and foremost, I wish to express my profound gratitude to all my team Exco members for their efforts and contributions during the past year; without whose assistance, I am sure we would not be able to attain our dreamed, prestigious and sweet success goal of attaining the President's Distinguished Club Award.

My appreciation also goes to our active Areas C2 Governor, ACG Lee Meng Tze, for her persuasive leadership,  motivation .and support shown and rendered  us throughout the term.  Her leadership has been very transparent of a true servant to her Area in particular and the Toastmaster World at large.  I wish her continued passion to be an Ambassador of TM International in this region.

Our last meeting for this season is on Friday, 29 June 2012; thereafter, in-coming President Boon and his team will take over the helm of leadership.  I am positive given the support by our members, over club will attain "cedius, altius and fortius" goals in the years ahead.

My advice to him and his team is this:  "Leadership is about directive and purposeful selfless giving of once efforts and time towards helping his fellowman to succeed and to become a better man.". In translating this adage into action, one needs to plan ahead, act upon the plans and follow through  them with passion and enthusiasm.

Members, do come for the meeting to hear "My Swan Song".  I promise you that it is not going to be a sad and rueful rendition.  We shall end the year with a "bang" - so, do come and find out what the few mysterious surprises awaiting your presence.  Let me share with you the secrets of success and happiness in your journey to become a better leader and public speaker. WE are going to have a celebration to mark the closure of a term well served and achieved.

Division C is organising 'A Year-End Appreciation Luncheon" on Sunday 15 July, 2012.  Besides, I am told that there shall be a joint installation of in-coming officers of a few clubs in the Division.  Perhaps, our in-coming EXCO may want to participate and save the time of having their own installation.. The cost per person is RM38/-.  For for information, please contact VPE C K Lim.  Do sign up for the function to show our support and affinity to the toastmasters fraternity and camaraderie.

Good Night and I look forward to a full attendance of members.
