Tonight’s meeting was fantastic and funtastic meeting. It was in fact
according to our GE, Stephen Fernando, an international meeting. The
meeting comprised people from Pune, India, Maldives, Batu Pahat,
Johore.
The good news is that we have another three new members joining us
effective 1 March 2012. They are Zaifah, Vanatha and Ulya.
The table topics session was conducted by CC Boon, the TT Evaluator’s
role was played by TM Ian Tai from Friendship Club, a club which MIHRM
helped to resuscitate slightly more than 10 years ago.
We were glad to have the presence of Doreen Ong, ex-Treasurer of the
Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management, of which the
undersigned was then the Vice-President in the mid-90’s; during which,
the conception of MIHRM Toastmasters Club was mooted.
Doreen Ong emerged as the Champion for the Table Topics Session.
TM Ravin undertook Speech No. 3 from the Basic Communication Manual
with the title, “Goal Setting” while Dr William Lau his No 7 on
“Believe and Be Transformed”. Their respective evaluators were TM Ian
Tai and ATMB Stephen Fernando.
All the guests opined well for the meeting and expressed their return
and three decided to join the Club as members.
The President made the following announcements:
1) All members are cordially encouraged to give moral support to our
members Stephen Fernando and Manohari who will be representing our
Club at the coming Area C2 International & Table-Topics Contests at
7.15 pm on Thursday, 23 Feb 2012 at the Institute of Engineers of
Malaysia premises.
2) The 2nd TI dues are due on 1 April 2012. Please effect payment to
our Treasurer CC Boon at our next meeting on Friday 2 March 2012.
In conclusion, the President heartily thanked all those who played the
various roles and participated in the various programmes
